Magda joined the Forensic team at KordaMentha in 2008, having previously worked in similar roles at Andersen and Ernst & Young.
Magda specialises in dispute analysis engagements, providing services to clients involved in commercial disputes. Magda’s early career experience was in actuarial consulting.
Magda has assisted clients in both quantifying their loss and damage and in analysing and critiquing loss and damage claims made against them. Most engagements involve the preparation of an experts report admissible in court proceedings. Others engagements may be on a consulting rather than expert witness basis.
Magda also specialises in engagements for clients who have been found to have infringed a copyright and need to account for the profits made from the infringement.
Noteworthy engagements include the following.
Quantification of Loss and Damage – a complex quantification of loss and damage sustained by a global resources company as a result of an accident which interrupted production at one of its plants.
Analysis and Critique of a Loss and Damage Claim – preparation of an expert witness report analysing and critiquing a claim brought against a major bank by a business customer claiming that the bank’s actions caused millions of dollars of loss to their business.
Account of Profits – calculation of the profits earned by a project home builder found to have infringed a design belonging to a competitor.
